Print Cabinet, walnut

Wharton Esherick was a printmaker as well as a sculptor and woodworker.  He made a number of print cabinets for himself and clients.  The overall style of this cabinet is based on one on display at the Moderne Gallery in Philadelphia.  Battens that fix the ship-lapped boards for the doors double as drawer supports.  I've added UHMW runners to the bottoms of the drawers to make them slide more easily.  The door handles are from the sapwood of pieces of crotch walnut.  The inside is finished with archival finishes to protect the prints.
