Modeled after a smaller writing desk designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1905.  The stained glass doors are in the style of Dutch artist Theo van Doesburg.  The wood is quartersawn red oak, ebonized with a mixture of vinegar and steel wool.  Drawer sides are figured hickory.
